START BELIEVING THE HYPE !

BOOTIK MOOSIK’S HYPERIUM
 [BOOTIK REC, 2014]

"What did you discover about musical theater?" wondered a Hollywood reporter as impressed by Bootik Moosik’s Broadway aspirations than by their Rock Opera ambition. "There's no money in it," replied the artistes, who reminds us that music is better negotiated as a philanthropic hobby in our digital world.

And though Bootik Moosik's pact with musical theatre should require them to sacrifice music, where their gifts are huge, for theatre, where they’re but novices; the songs themselves are rich, mocking rock, religion, musical comedy, the classix, and American culture all at once.

Bootik's Diablo is a midlife whiner, God an unknown quantity, heroes & foes are bigger creeps than both of them respective armies put together while good girl-bad girls set a mean & deadly ‘pozzaz’ agenda.

The pleasure Bootik takes in this hubris is so ebullient that the satire never turns cheap. And if it reeks of mock self importance, well, how better to bum-rush Western civ and "America's greatest art form" simultaneously ?  –  Sum Gall (Bean Counter Mag & Blog)
